Importance of Eating Breakfast for Losing Weight
Breakfast is probably the most important intake of the day. It is from where one gets the strength to think and move. Thus, it is one meal that we shouldn’t be skipping, especially those trying to lose weight.
But what we actually take for breakfast also matters. We may have eaten our morning meal but if what we have eaten for breakfast does not seem enough to make us think and move quite well in line of our daily routine then we would fall short of the results that one is expected at the end of the day.
For those trying to shred out excess weight, eating breakfast (and forgetting either lunch or supper) allows them to do the usual routine, but the question is up to what extent of the day could they probably last if their morning meal is not even capable of giving them enough energy to rev them up in compliance with their work requirements.
The volume of breakfast should not be an issue as to how long one weight conscious individual can last. The main concern is the type of food that one has to take in the morning for him to be able to do things he does at work, without really compromising health and weight check agenda.
There are those however, who eat their heavy breakfast and still eat their lunch and supper but with significant alteration on the volume and variants.
Among the food stuffs that are generally recommended for breakfast because of its low glycemic index are:
1. Whole wheat and whole grain breads
2. Bread cereal, rice and pasta
3. Breads containing whole, intact grains and seeds (millet, flaxseed, etc)
4. Brown rice, basmati rice
5. Barley, buckwheat
6. Whole grain cereals, muesli
7. Whole wheat pita, chapattis
9. Legumes and legume products (hummus, baked beans, lentil soup, etc.)
10. Bakery products made with whole grains, bran, whole fruit pieces, and/or nuts
11. Unsweetened milk and milk products
12. Unsweetened yogurt
13. Soy beverages
14. Most vegetables and vegetable juices
These variants in list of food stuffs are popular choices for breakfast because of its low GI index load. It is also deemed as source of enough energy that could sustain one’s usually busy workday without craving the need to eat more.
A day without one getting a decent breakfast does not sound good for people trying to stay, fit, healthy and within their ideal weight. After all, breakfast is where everything starts in every man’s work-filled day.
